Fire leaves six people homeless in St. Thomas

Fire destroyed a home in South Haven, Yallahs in St. Thomas yesterday leaving six persons homeless.

 

According to work shortly after midday fire was seen coming from a three bedroom board house.

 

Firefighters from the Yallahs Fire Station were called to the scene, but the house was destroyed before they arrived.

 

Reports indicate that the fire truck was in Morant Bay collecting fuel at the time and arrived forty minutes after the call.

 

Damage is estimated at nearly two million dollars.
