NWC says drought affecting systems in St. James

The National Water Commission (NWC) reports that it has been forced to moderate water supply to some St. James communities as the parish continues to be impacted by drought conditions.

The NWC said its Blue Hole facility is receiving little inflows.

It said this is affecting regular water supply to the communities of Montpelier, Red Ground, Mount Carey, York Bush, Carey Village, Cotton Tree Heights and Top Hill.

The NWC said as a result it will be regulating the available supply between the communities until the water levels at the Blue Hole facility improve.

It said it regrets the inconvenience and is asking residents to be patient.
