The Contractor General has raised several concerns to the Prime Minister and the Leader of Opposition, about the future of the chief corruption watchdog body, and what he says is the failure of various political administrations to strengthen the office.

He has put his concerns and issues to be examined in a letter to Prime Minister Portia Simpson-Miller and Opposition Leader, Andrew Holness.

The letter has also been sent to the Governor General and the Speaker of the House.

The Contractor General says that the time has come, for the executive and legislative arms of the Jamaican state to publicly clarify precisely what role, if any at all, the Office of the Contractor General (OCG) should play.
